Hi Karen! From our own sleety, icy, snowy Tallahassee, I’ve removed ice from our birdbath today. A male cardinal and a blue jay took a splash bath. Seeing your bird buddies is always a sweet experience, Karen. And thanks for the Martin Luther King, Jr. quote. A wise course for living. 🙏🏽

Eek! How much snow did you get?!? I've seen pics from the Florida panhandle, South Carolia, and souther Georgia.

The consistency of what fell reminded me of conglomerate rock. Sleet, ice, and crystals created a 2 to 3 inch thick layer. With shaded areas and overnight lows in the mid to lower 20’s it supports foot traffic. My dog Izzie thinks it’s fabulous. As if her feet don’t get cold. My car was still covered today with that tough material, and was resistant to removal after sunshine all day. May be gone by the week end. Thanks for asking, Karen.

I’m surprised with the heron picture…they don’t migrate over winter?? So the news has Houston and Galveston getting snow today…and it’s sticking…amazing… glad it’s not here🥶. Love your quote too and the Junco conga line😂❤️👍

There were 14 herons in the cove today! They don't always congregate in such close corners, but when the fish supply is low they seem to be able to cooperate.

Herons stay here year round! And wow - Galveston doesn't get snow often! Thank you Aunt Sharon!

Martin Luther King was so right about the burden of hate. Put it down and go on much lighter and free to take in each new day. All the better to see a sweet puppy dog faces in frozen leaves and a dancing conga line of juncos. Keep your fabulous sunrises coming! I never grow tired of their beauty!

I love the hoar frost on the snow in the final photo. And the birds. So much wildlife hangs around through the coldest months. Thank you, Karen.
