"Everywhere I look, sunlight creates beauty on the ice and snow. It feels quiet. My mind feels quiet." Such a beautiful wander through winter beauty!

Really nice photos Karen. I love that first photo - does anyone else see the bare ice as shaped like a whale? Awesome.

Also, I like the tracks in the snow - my guess a Red Fox perhaps? Lovely photos of that Hooded Merganser in flight as well. Thanks for sharing.

That's how I saw it, even when I was taking it, as a whale! I have never seen a fox out there so if they are fox that would be so exciting! I wish I was better at identifying tracks! Thank you Neil.

Oh the reindeer Karen, I love it when you can find nature within nature, so beautiful. 🙏💫

How did you capture that ant windsurfing in the final pic, Karen?

Haha - I love that! That's a great one! I have no idea how that leaf froze standing straight up like that - I guess that's what a sudden deep freeze can do?

No wonder photography is considered “Art”.

Thank you for sharing your vision, your heart and your Soul with us. They speak as one to the oneness of All. When I get off the yoga mat or the meditation cushion I feel what your Art captures… awe and wonder. Your way of seeing speaks to your way of being in this world. You tread lightly as if feelings are everywhere…and yes, feelings are everywhere. Heart-opening Art. Thank you Karen…

Mmmm, "feelings are everywhere". I do tread lightly in nature - but I need to learn to do it in the rest of the world because my overly-mental-analytical nature can sometimes be very harsh and sharp (as my dream this week reminded me). Thank you for giving me this phrase, "tread lightly because feelings are everywhere". Thank you!

Perhaps you bring your “outside mindset” indoors and let empathy bubble up from within that big heart of yours...

This is what Oriah said to me all those years ago - "find something you love and let it teach you how you want to live".

It's like I'm 2 different people - classic Gemini I guess - but I remind myself of this so often and then forget entirely because I'm so patterned in how I am at work and such. Working on it!

I'm taking that upstanding leaf among the ice as a sign of resilience for me. In Day Four of acute bronchitis and the mother of all head colds -- something I've managed to dodge for about 35 years! -- and I am remembering how to stand tall amid adversity and discomfort. In some perverse way it is reminding me of being young and moving through sickness to healing many times. Excellent life lesson that shall not be wasted! ;-)

My wife recently went through something similar. She eventually got an humidifier with the ability to add a Vicks vapor solution which helped her breathe a bit better…

Thanks for this good advice! I’ll follow up!

Oh gosh Lauren! My best friend had something similar and is finally getting over it (after several weeks) - and she never gets sick. Sending you so much love and healing energy.

Yeah, this kinda gobsmacked me. I'm vaccinated for everything (COVID, flu, RSV) and tend to have a good immune system. Plus I'm not out-and-about a lot in crowded public places. So this germ was really on a search-and-destroy mission for me! :-) I'm feeling much better this afternoon and am hoping for a night of better sleep. Thanks for the well wishes and healing energy. I hope your new health protocol is reaping positive results for you as well!
