Lovely post, Karen. I needed this. I’ve been stressing with not doing enough and I really need to just chill out and focus on the things on my plate. Less can be more. And beautiful pictures!!
Thanks, Karen, for today's ponderings. As Peace continues to come into your personal space, the ripples are felt and have influence in subtle ways throughout our larger world. Thanks for all you do as you continue to grow into whom you have always been!
Love this Karen. Slow is most definitely an art, it takes practice, patience and presence and feels sooo good when you finally embrace the slow and allow the slow into your life and into your being 💫
A daily practice, starting over daily - as you wrote. Day after day. Always the beginner. In a way, our writing themes were linked this week - do you think so too?
You and Maria Shriver (see her editorial in her on-line blog "The Sunday Paper" today) are definitely channeling the same inner wisdom of moving more slowly through life. As so much is being thrown at us so quickly, we need to, as Maria says, "take a beat" in order to settle down, tune in, and be present in the moment as our best, most grounded and compassionate selves. I hope you thoroughly enjoy your new, more measured pace as you move through the languid months of summer. (I bet you won't be wearing that turtleneck for long! ;-) XO
I saw that this morning! I think the faster the world goes the more we have to imagine slowing down. And no, lol, the turtleneck is probably done for a while!
I have two stickers taped to the bottom of my computer monitor. One reads, "as slow as possible" and the other reads, "Time is not real, urgency is fiction. Whatever we've been told must be done right now can wait. – Eloghusa Osunde." They are there obviously to remind me, but as I sit stressing over deadlines and what I have to do and what I haven't gotten done, I realize I'm not heeding them very well. The struggle is real.
Thank you Karen, just what I needed to read this morning..so beautiful. I resonate a lot with giving myself permission to slow down. I just finished Atlas of the Heart- and glad I have this book to help me and my children understand the difference between all the emotions- plus I love the format of the book.
Thank you, this is inspiring! I know it's going to take a while (especially while still working a corporate job), but I love "the pace I call home". yes!

Thank you. I feel like life just requires a lot of energy to process it right now and everyone I know is needing to do less!
Fully agree with the need to slow down - beautiful words and photos ...
Thank you
So much truth here--thank you!
Thank you Alison!

Thank you Uncle Bill!

Ooooh, I love slow as art! Thank you - much practice to go.

Yes, very linked!! Amazing isn’t it?
Yes, a little magical. This must be a message much needed out in the world right now...

Oh I love this Chris. And yes, it is for sure a practice not a destination!
I'm inspired by your quest of slowing down and self compassion. Our weather has been a bit cool at times this week too.
Looking for how I can bring the energy I want to bring to the world is an ongoing journey for sure.

Thank you Julie. Ah, "Atlas of the Heart" is such a beautiful book! If I ever do a book, I'd like to make it that visual and beautiful.
I hear you! After my book came out I said the same thing! LOL. Maybe the next one. :)
