This is a lovely post. I can totally identify with how you feel. I think if remove the pressure to be Brilliant, we manage to be consistent and keep going.

I get that struggle with perfectionism. It pervades everything I do. My current approach is to notice when it is tying me up and then trying to keep going regardless. It's a work in progress. Thank you for your lovely thoughts and photos.

Yes, I will always be a recovering perfectionist I think (with relapses!). I have been learning to stop, briefly, because my nature is to keep going and pushing. Sometimes we just have to try the opposite.

thank-you for the lovely photos and yes the struggle is real - as a fellow sub-stacker I had to change my promise to deliver every Tuesday - I still post once a week but the deadline of which day sent me into a tailspin ;). And if you enjoy meditation you might enjoy this one - https://natashaclarke.substack.com/p/spring-unfurling?s=w

I love this! I read the article but haven't had a chance yet to listen to the meditation - looking forward to it!

My version of this is--work smarter, not harder. But I feel your anxiety about newsletter performance anxiety! It's a real thing. As this post demonstrates, the more honest you are, the more it seems to resonate with people.

Ah yes. That phrase is just too loaded for me because in my early consulting days in the 90s it was said to me all the time (and translated as "don't charge all your hours"). Words are so interesting in how they can resonate!

Your grandfather sounds like he was a lovely wise man. How can this be made easier or require less effort is something I need to ask myself on a regular bases basis

My grandfather was very connected to the earth and to his plants. He owned a nursery and he spent all his days growing things. He and my mom were both born on the first day of spring, I'll probably write about that next week! And yes, the question has infinite uses!

Another brave and honest post that offers both encouragement and good advice. As a recovering perfectionist myself, I really appreciate it! ;-)
